Training for Industry
The Council Alliance for a Sustainable Built Environment (CASBE) and the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) offer training in the BESS tool. Face-to-face training is held at the MAV offices at 60 Collins St Melbourne.
You are not required to complete a training course to use the BESS tool. Please note that BESS is used in the Victorian context of the planning application process and can be used for free for a project in any subscribing council area. However, if you regularly prepare complex assessments it is recommended that you undertake a BESS training course.
There are three training courses available:

The page includes ESD professionals currently offering BESS assessments as a service only. Following successful completion of training, you will be contacted with details on how this occurs.
Contact CASBE with any queries related to BESS training at email@example.com. The CASBE Executive Officer, the BESS Manager or the CASBE Planning Officer will respond on the next Monday or Wednesday, whichever is sooner.
